How take care of knits this rainy season.

Hey lovelies,

The weather has been so chilly and cold of late and we all have been grabing our trench coats, knits and warm appereal. On today’s post I will be sharing on how to take care of your knit sweaters or dress tops .

1 . Read the label

This will enable you to make the right decision when washing. Not all knitted items are washed by a washing machine so read the label to know how best to wash your garment

2 . How to dry

Always put the sweater in a towel after washing so as to suck up the excess water. Then flat lay the garment to dry it this will make it not lose its initial shape.

3. Washing cardigans

Button then up before washing to avoid stretching and loosing it’s shape.

4 . Getting rid of pills.

Use a sharp scissors or razor to cut of the pills be very careful not to damage your sweater.

5 . Storage

When storing knit garments always fold them to avoid stretching also store them in a dry place to make them last longer.

Thanks for passing by,

Have a lovely day ahead.

How to become a morning person .

Hey lovelies,

How’s y’all doing? This week at been kinda lazy but am finally back with some amazing content. I used to wake up really late and I hated morning routine but until I was able to find my morning motivation it has never been the same again. For today’s post I will be sharing what I do in the morning to make sure I wake up early enough and get every work done on time.

  • Get your motivation

Find out the one thing that can make you wake up in the morning for me it’s my morning playlist, Kiss 100 breakfast show and my sticky note goals just above my bed.

  • If your all about fashion try pairing some super cool pieces the night before. This idea at times seems way off but knowing that you look good in a certain dress or jeans may just be what you need to wake up, bath and dress up.
  • Have an agenda for the day.

Knowing that you have some incomplete business helps you to work harder to just get out of that bed and try to finish it up.

  • Play a motivational podcast in the morning.

Listening to some motivational speech will wake you and make you go hustle / school . The thing with motivational podcast is that they act as an eye opener and thus drive us to become better humans.

  • Make prayer your first item.

Just saying simple prayer like thank you God for today may just help you wake up and try fulfilling your purpose in life.

Hope my simple tips really helped you and thanks alot for checking out my blog post today. Your beautiful /handsome ,unique and I appreciate you.

Have a good day ahead,

Lots of love,

😍.

how to maintain your straight hair

hey lovelies ,
I totally hope you are having a better day and a less stressful one , its tuesday but it really seems like an extended version of monday ugh…… Today i will be sharing with you tips on how to maintain your straight hair , since its still february and the sun is still scorching super hard on this part of the globe i decided to take a break from my natural hair regimen since my natural hair looses moisture super fast thus making it even harder to maintain.

my tips are super easy :

1 . Oil often
yall know how much i insist on oiling your hair so try and add some oils to your hair every now and thento avoid drynesss thus avoiding hair loss in the process .
2 . comb daily
this will help you loosen all the tangles and let your hair be stronger and stay more straight .
3 . trim on your wash day
trimming your hair is guaranteed to help you reduce tangles and helps in hair growth too .
4 . Understand your hair type
by this i mean get to know more about your hair type and how you can maintain in terms of curl pattern , texture e.tc

hope this few pointers will help you the next time you decide to straighten your hair .Hve a lovely day ahead hoping to hear more from you my email is at alivenstylish@gmail.com

TWENTY LESSONS AT TWENTY

hey lovelies ,
Its finally that time of the year again , its finally my birthday and i would like to thank all of you for those amazing heartfelt messages you send me this morning it was super sweet . As the title of today’s blog says i am finally turning 20 am super exited and happy to reach hear and considering that Monday is my 2 Blogversary i consider all this a blessing .
here are 20 things i personally have been through and learnt over all those years ;

TWENTY LESSON AT TWENTY
2017-10-26 10-383345601..jpg
TWENTY LESSONS AT TWENTY

1. No situation last forever , at time we find ourselves in pretty messy situations but the one thing that always keeps me going is that nothing last forever its all like a passing wave it will finally end so just hang in there .
2. Your parents know better , everyday i try to be better to my parents because i do not really know where i would be without them .At times we just don’t see their point of view but the know better .
3. Not all who say they will always be there are always there , today as i celebrate my birthday i got a lot of messages from new friends and none from so old friends learn to move on when they leave and learn to enjoy the moment when they are around .
4. Drink more water , i know this sounds cray cray but drinking more water has been known to reduce anxiety and stress mostly in teen year so there have a gulp and stay hydrated .
5. Laugh out loud when need be , when something is funny or it stimulates your laugh senses do laugh out loud its said to add more years and reduce stress . Unless your laughter is as a form of sarcasm of just to make fun of some one do enjoy laughing every now and then .
6. Make new friends . Am personally not that comfortable among new crowds of people but once you get to know me you’ll either stay forever of leave .So try and be nice to people even though some people are just not as appreciative and see one as if you care too much be kind and cut off any bad vibes .
7. Be patient every thing worth while takes time , plus God is never late or too early just wait on is timing .
8. Don’t give some one your happy license , by this i mean you are the only determinant of whether your going to have a good day or a bad day don’t let anyone decide your happiness for you .
9. “You can get everything you want only if you dress for it “- Edith Head .What you wear defines you so try and be in your best foot you just don’t know who might be watching .
10. Try new thing , i have tried lots of things in my life since i love art and creating stuff i started out by creating jewelry , then i moved to home decor i try to make every day a learning experience and i have got lots of good memory by trying to learn and not just bossing people around .
11. Moving off your comfort zone helps you become tougher and responsible .
12. Eat healthy i promise you it will help in the long run .
13. love more and hold less grudges .
14. Do what makes you happy in my busy schedules i still find time to blog , create home decor pieces and get together with some friend . Don’t just stay there and blame it all on lack of time try and adjust your schedule to fit all that you love .
15. Exercise more , be it yoga , cardio or just some jogging try and put aside about 15 minutes per day to work out .
16. Smile more and let your good vibes flow more often .
17. Try some new foods every once in a while treat your self more often so that you are able to enjoy it when others treat you out since you cannot enjoy others company if you donot enjoy your own company .
18. Falling in-love ain’t always an easy ride , at time you will fall out of it at times the feeling may not be mutual learn to let go what you cannot control .
19. Explore and travel more , try and satisfy your hunger for exploration and adventure more .
20. Love and spend more time with your family since they are the best destination in the world .

hope this few lesson av shared are super helpful .
THANKS ALOT FOR READING THIS .
LOTS OF LOVE .

Hey lovelies,

The  amazing be inspired series is back to give you some more inspiration to take you through the whole week. Today am talking to the amazing miss kibunja a Fashion model based in Kenya and signed with the mochez modelling agency .

Penny : I love going spending time at Charlie’s Bistro in Nairobi; having lunch with friends or doing meetings. I also love hanging out in the studio and gym; trying to perfect my walk and also keep my body fit .

What has been your biggest breakthrough  in your modelling career?

Having to work with the biggest designers in Africa from John Kaveke to Mia Kora, Kshmr by Kuoni from Russia, Mia Kora from London and Wazawazi. It has been a huge breakthrought for me.

How do you balance law  school and work.

Penny: I had to transfer from my university branch in Mombasa to the main campus in Nairobi and also get my classes sheduled for evening so that i can work and go for shoots during the day.Luckily school and work have never clashed because of the time-frame that i set .

If given a choice between official clothes and casual clothes with would you pick ?

Penny : I am a casual person! I find casual outfit so easy-going especially when u want to throw in something quick .

Challenges that you have faced in your modelling career?

Having to travel from Mombasa to Nairobi when i have a show! At that time i was still schooling in Mombasa. It was abit of a challenge until I decided to move to Nairobi and school there too.

 Your top 3 hobbies

I love travelling, reading novels and swimming .
Advice to young people out there who would love to join the modelling industry.

I cannot start saying that it’s an easy ride, because it aint but all that a model or an aspiring model  requires is GRIT ( greatness requires internal toughness)  , focus, passion and executing your work in the best way possible so as to stand out.

MY NATURAL HAIR EXPERIENCE SO FAR •••

Hey lovelies,

One of my goal this month is taking more care of my hair, you can check out my other  goals and favourite On my previous post.

Natural hair has been trending  a lot for the last few years so here’s a break down on my first natural hair trial  -:

  • Get your starter pack right

Do some research first and the figure what works best for both your hair and your pocket, remember don’t go broke trying to look rich. I started out with coconut oil and water spray to just work around braiding my hair and get really defined curls. The most important thing when going natural is locking down the moisture and water + coconut oil is the best recipe ever.

  • Let your hair get enough vitamin D .

The main source of vitamin D is the sun so try and bask every once in a while it’s healthy too .

  • Eat enough  protein and more water

More protein means more strength and thickness to your hair so try and get more milk and some eggs in your daily diet. Water your hair both inside out so try drinking more water.

  • Do not apply heat on your hair.

The main reason for going natural is not having to blow-dry your hair let them curls pop and them edges grow

    • Do trim your edges  before going natural

This will help your hair to grow longer more this is the main reason why I decided to go natural so try n thank me later 😊.

Get to see my natural hair pictures on my IG at http://www.instagram.com/alive_n_stylish

    Thanks for passing by,

    Have a lovely day ahead.
